2024 8-10 CAMP IS NOW FULL.
It’s heartbreaking to not have space for every interested child. We are expanding our programs as rapidly as possible, now that we’re a nonprofit and offering them for free or by-donation. Our only constraint to serving more children is funding for more staff: if you have the resources to donate to support expanding our programs, please do so via the button in the top righthand corner of the screen. Also, please make sure you’re on our newsletter list (fill out the box at the bottom of this page) to hear about programs for fall 2024, Family on the Farm Days this summer, internships for middle an high school students, etc.
This year, Poco Farm has a new camp for 8-10 year olds July 8-12th, 7:45-1:00.
This camp will include lots of time with plants and animals, with a day focused on each of the following: goats, chickens, garden, orchard, and kitchen. For example, a goat day might include learning how to milk them, working on basic veterinary skills, giving them baths, taking them for a walk and making goat cheese with the morning milk. Our plans will be emergent, focused on what comes up for the campers and led by their curiosity. Every day will begin with animal chores. As always at camp, there will be lots of art, water play, etc. as needed/desired.
This camp will be run by Grace Malloy, Shanti Sandosham, and a few fabulous teenage counselors.
Now that Poco is a nonprofit, we are able to offer our camps by-donation. The cost to Poco Farm (per camper) of this program is $375. If your family is able to, we would appreciate donations to fund the program. More details below at signup!
